    Information / follow-up ...
The Myanmar army has burned more than 60 villages and destroyed more than 900 buildings of the Muslim minority of Rohingya in the western province of Arakan, Human Rights Watch said Friday.
Human Rights Watch published new satellite images of areas devastated by Myanmar's army and extremist Buddhist militias in Arakan province.
A statement issued by the organization that the pictures and data show the burning of the Myanmar army to 62 villages and the destruction of 948 buildings in Arakan between 25 August and 14 September.
"Our field research supports satellite imagery that the Burmese army is directly responsible for the mass burning of the Rohingya villages," said Phil Robertson, deputy director of Asia at Human Rights Watch.
"The United Nations and Member States should impose urgent measures on the Government of Myanmar to stop these massacres and end the forced displacement of Rohingya Muslims from Myanmar," the statement said.
The statement also pointed out that "the presence of new areas in the town of Mangdao, Arkan province is now targeted for destruction, as revealed satellite images taken on September 11 and 13"
Since August 25, the Muslims of the Rohingya minority in the western province of Arkan have been subjected to a kind of genocide by the Myanmar army and extremist Buddhist militias.
The genocide resulted in the death and injury of thousands of civilians and the displacement of hundreds of thousands, according to Rohingya activists
