The head of an independent parliamentary bloc, Sadiq al-Labban, confirmed Monday that he has returned some corrupt and wanted officials to the Iraqi judiciary from abroad, thanks to the efforts exerted by some monitoring bodies with INTERPOL. "Fighting corrupt people abroad is much easier than fighting them at home,

" al-Labban said during a press interview with the Baghdad Post. "The corrupt people who escaped have no protectors against what is inside."

"Many Iraqis see that those who seek corruption have no will to fight corruption and to eliminate the big whales that have been taking turns in the state institutions," he said.

He pointed out that "the real war against corruption, unfortunately, has not yet started unless the internal corruption is addressed at home."
