China is considering cutting tariffs on imported cars by about half

Thursday, April 26,

considering reducing import duties on passenger cars by about half as part of Beijing'splan to increase the opening up of China's auto market, said Sumerian News . " The Chinese government is considering proposals to reduce tariffs on imported cars to 10 or 15 per cent from 25 per cent for now, " the Bloomberg news agency said, adding that a declaration of the decision could be issued next month. Earlier this month, China pledged to open its car market, the world's largest, and announced a timetable for canceling long-standing restrictions on foreign ownership of auto projects and said it would cut fees on imported cars soon.
