Shafaq News / The US State Department officially announced the opening of its embassy in Jerusalem.
The Foreign Ministry said in a statement that the opening of the US Embassy in Jerusalem will be on May 14 this Monday.
"We are proud to inaugurate the United States Embassy in Jerusalem on May 14," the State Department said in a statement.
The Foreign Ministry also announced the opening ceremony of the embassy, headed by US Ambassador to Israel David Friedman, as well as a delegation from Washington headed by US President George W. Bush's adviser, Jared Kouchner, and his wife and daughter-in-law, Ivanka Trump, , And Treasury Secretary Stephen Menuchin.
The opening will also see a meeting of the US delegation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
May 14 coincides with the 70th Nakba Day, which Tel Aviv considers its anniversary.
US President Donald Trump has decided to move his embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem and consider Jerusalem the capital of the State of Israel amid international criticism and many Palestinian protests. He also announced that he may visit Jerusalem to attend the opening ceremony of the US embassy there. Later.
