BAGHDAD (Reuters) -

Dozens of residents of Safwan, southwest of Basra, took part Sunday in an angry peaceful demonstration launched from the center of the province and ended in front of the gate of the border post adjacent to Kuwait.

One of the participants in the demonstration, "Eye of Iraq News", that "the demonstration is a continuation of the peaceful sit-in in front of the port gate, which he described as continuing every evening."

"The demonstration is a message to local and central governments that they will not give up their demands and the rights of their city in basic services and job opportunities."
