Colombian Foreign Minister Carlos Holmes Trujillo said Saturday that his country's decision to recognize the Palestinian state under former President Juan Manuel Santos would not change.
"Our country has no intention of withdrawing the recognition of Palestine and we are not thinking of turning back," Trujillo told a conference in the United States. "Everything will go on as it is."
Former Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos handed over a letter to Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad al-Malki, saying that Colombia had "decided to recognize Palestine as an independent, sovereign and independent state", the Palestinian news agency WAFA reported.
