    The US dollar fell against major currencies on Monday, as safe haven assets moved in and ahead of economic data releases.
    By 9:45 am GMT, the dollar fell 0.2 percent to $ 1.1585 and the yen fell 111 percent to 111.73 yen.
    The US currency settled against the British pound at 1.3155 dollars, while it fell against the Swiss franc, recording 0.9861 francs, down 0.7%.
    At the level of the main dollar index, which measures the performance of the currency against 6 major currencies, fell by 0.2% to 95.063.
    The dollar slipped amid a rebound in gold and yen, amid a slump in global stock markets.
    The spot price of the yellow metal today was around $ 15, rising 1.2% to $ 1231.91 an ounce.
    In the stock markets, the Japanese stock market fell, the Nikkei fell to a two-month low and European stocks fell during morning trade.
    The head of the International Monetary Fund warned of more market volatility as a result of trade tensions and said the current period was not the time when everything was said to be okay, let's rest, do a little bit of financial tolerance and slow down reforms.
    Later in the day, US retail sales and the Empire State Industrial Production Index are due to be announced later in the day.
