Exxon Mobil Signs LNG Framework Agreement with Zhejiang Energy 10663

ExxonMobil has signed a framework agreement on a 15-year LNG supply deal with Zhejiang Energy Group to win the Chinese company's first long-term supply contract, a senior executive said on Thursday.
Peter Clarke, head of gas and electricity marketing at ExxonMobil, was speaking at a conference of the oil and gas industry in Zhoushan near Shanghai.
Exxon is accelerating its efforts to meet the growing demand for liquefied natural gas (LPG), where it combines multi-billion dollar production projects worldwide with its first storage and distribution outlet on the mainland.
Clark said later on the sidelines of the meeting that LNG supply to China would come from a mix of ExxonMobil's global portfolio - not necessarily from the United States - with the company boosting production from Papua New Guinea and Mozambique.
Zhejiang Energy is a coal producer and operator of state-owned facilities and has set up a joint venture earlier this year with Glencore for the trading of primary commodities to trade energy products including liquefied gas.
