, according to local military sources said Thursday that the coalition led by the Saudi deployment of some 30 thousand troops south of the city of Hodeidah to Yemen , to pressure the rebels to return to peace talks sponsored by the United Nations .
"Thousands of Yemeni soldiers trained by the coalition have been sent to the outskirts of Hodeidah as well as the deployment of modern weapons including armored vehicles and tanks ... in preparation for a major operation in the coming days," the sources told Reuters.

Residents said the Houthis also deployed troops in the center of the city of Hodeidah at the port and in the southern neighborhoods in anticipation of any attack.

UN special envoy to Yemen Martin Griffith is trying to resume peace talks in September, raising the risk of renewed attacks on the Red Sea city, the country's main port and lifeline for millions of Yemenis dependent on foreign humanitarian aid.

The United States and Britain have called for an end to the three-year-old war that has pushed Yemen to the brink of famine, increasing pressure on Saudi Arabia at a time of global outrage over the killing of prominent Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul . From October.
