 Foreign Minister Mohammad Ali al-Hakim urged the Russian and Kuwaiti sides to invest in Iraq. 
"During a meeting with the Kuwaiti ambassador to Baghdad Salem al-Zamanan, al-Hakim discussed bilateral relations between the two countries and the need to upgrade them to meet the aspirations of the two friendly peoples," a foreign ministry statement said. 
Al-Hakim stressed on the importance of coordinating positions in international organizations and the League of Arab States, calling for exchanging visits between officials of the two countries. In the framework of enhancing relations and exchanging common interests, he reiterated his thanks to Kuwait's support for Iraq, especially the Kuwait International Conference for the Reconstruction of Iraq . 
Hakim urged the Kuwaiti side to "invest in Iraq and contribute to the reconstruction of infrastructure."
For his part, the ambassador stressed the continued support of his country to Iraq, calling for "the holding of the Iraqi-Kuwaiti Joint Committee, and again invited Hakim to visit Kuwait to discuss the joint files between the two countries."
