Basra Gas Company has doubled its production to three times that of 2013, and it has already reached 70% of the country's needs.
A source in the company: "The production is currently blocking the need for Basra and the southern provinces of gas material supplied to the national electricity grid and up to 70% of the total need of the country."
The source added that "about 5,500 Iraqi employees working in their formations in addition to 400 foreign workers with very high experience and in accordance with international standards."
"The company has three main sites: the liquefaction plant in northern Rumaila, the storage and export complex in Umm Qasr and the company's main center in Khor al-Zubair, and more than 19 gas compressor stations distributed at different locations to catch gas and send it to production sites."
