    Iraq and Jordan form a joint team to coordinate in various fields


    During his meeting with Jordanian counterpart Ayman Safadi, Foreign Minister Mohammed al-Hakim agreed on the formation of a joint working team of the two ministries to develop a roadmap aimed at reaching broad horizons for cooperation in various fields within specific time frames.
    The two sides discussed the regional issues, foremost of which is the Palestinian issue. Both sides stressed the seriousness of the continuation of the current situation and the need to act in a practical and expeditious manner to resolve the Palestinian-Israeli conflict on the basis of the Arab consensus of supporting a two-state solution that guarantees the establishment of a Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
    On Syria, he explained that the two sides agree that greater efforts must be made to end the destruction and suffering that Syria has experienced over the years, and that there is a political solution to this crisis that preserves the unity and cohesion of Syria and the Syrians accept it and return to Syria to regain its role as a pillar of Pillars of security and stability and an essential part of the joint Arab action system.
    Al-Hakim pointed out that the meetings between the two leaderships were fruitful, clear and frank and discussed all issues of mutual concern. He said that the new government has a realistic program that needs to be implemented and completed especially after Iraq won its war against the so-called King Abdullah II Khawraj.
    Al-Hakim called on Egypt, Syria and Lebanon to be partners with Jordan and Iraq in the project of connecting electricity, pointing out the need to put practical steps to start implementation of bilateral projects between the two countries.
    Safadi pointed out that his meeting with Foreign Minister Hakim is a continuation of the dialogue initiated by King Abdullah II and President Barham Salih and in implementation of the directives to act in a practical, quick and effective way to advance Jordanian-Iraqi relations to the level they deserve based on what brings us from a great brotherly history and historical strategic relationship.
    Safadi stressed that the direction of the two leaderships is clear that the relationship between the two countries should be a practical model for the strong brotherly Arab relations which translates into concrete practical steps and the necessity of progress in the bilateral field through the implementation of bilateral projects such as the oil pipeline from Basra to Aqaba, Between the two countries and others.
    Safadi said for us in Jordan the security of Iraq and the stability of Iraq is the security and stability of Jordan and the prosperity of Iraq is our prosperity.
