Gold hits global highs on Wednesday ahead of economic data releases

By 6:35 am GMT, the price of gold futures for delivery in December rose by 0.1% to 1222.80 dollars an ounce.
While the spot price of the yellow metal settled at $ 1221.55 an ounce.
During that period, the major dollar index, which measures the performance of the currency against six major currencies, fell about 0.1% to 96.718.
The focus is now on the 20th summit to be held by the end of this month, which is scheduled to meet with US and Chinese leaders to discuss outstanding trade issues.
