The US Treasury puts Iranians on the sanctions list because of their digital currency activity
The US Treasury Department on Wednesday set up two Iranian nationals, Mohammad Qorbanian and Ali Khra Shadyzadeh, on the US sanctions list for their digital currency activities.
The Iranian news agency Fars News quoted a statement by the US Treasury Department as saying that it had "put Muhammad Qorbanian and Ali Khra Shadyzadeh on the black list of people on the US blacklist SDN."
The Treasury Department of Foreign Assets Control said that "Qurbbani and Khra Shadyzadeh, the Iranians have been placed under sanctions because of their activity in the field of digital currencies."
The United States continues to impose severe sanctions against the regime of Iran and its cooperating partners in order to try to circumvent sanctions and continue its destabilizing activities in the region and the world.
The second package of US sanctions against Iran entered in early November, targeting various sectors including oil, banks, shipping, aviation and others.
