The Ministry of Oil announced on Thursday the transfer of a number of non-invested gas fields to the Ministry of Electricity to set up generating stations with different capacities. He added that "the total quantities of gas associated in these discrete fields will provide 15 million cubic feet of gas per day of generation units with the feasibility of economic implementation of this project, thus this will be the best way to invest gas during this stage until the creation of significant investment opportunities, That "the implementation of this project will add quantities of electricity to the system and at the same time will enrich the establishment of facilities for these quantities, which are small and economically feasible."
Zobaie stressed that "the ministry and since 2015, put an integrated plan to invest the entire gas associated with oil production, especially that Iraq's gas 70% of it is associated with the production of oil as a reserve and represents 100% of the existing production capacity, so requires investment complex facilities different shapes and pressures and quality, Noting that "the plan set out since 2015, as the amount of gas produced up to 700 million cubic feet a day, and currently the ministry invests 1500 million standard cubic feet per day of the total 2800 million cubic feet Yasi per day and desired by the year 2023 ".
