    A member of the Finance Committee Representative Hoshyar Abdullah, on Thursday, to prejudice the salaries of employees and retirees, while his refusal to reduce any salaries in the budget of 2019.
    "The salaries of employees and retirees are a red line for us in the Finance Committee," Abdullah said in a statement. "If there is any intention by the government to cut their salaries even if only a fraction, it is categorically rejected by us." 

    He added that "if the government wants to cut costs, there are many doors of current expenditures we can reduce them rather than approaching the salaries of employees and retirees," noting that "the members of the Committee are fully agreed not to allow any prejudice to the salaries of employees and retirees in the budget in 2019."
    He added that "the Finance Committee submitted proposals to the Ministry of Finance and to the committee to reformulate the draft budget prepared by the previous government, on the transfer of the budget of 2019 to the budget of citizens and not budget ministries, bodies and institutions."

    The parliamentary Finance Committee rejected on Thursday any government proposal on the deduction or reduction of salaries of employees and retirees in the budget of 2019, stressing that salaries are a red line and will not allow prejudice.
    "The salaries of employees and retirees are a red line for us in the Finance Committee, and even if there is any direction by the government for any deduction in their salaries even if a fraction is rejected by us categorically," said a member of the Finance Committee representative Hoshyar Abdullah in a statement.
