Baghdad / .. The newspaper "The Guardian" British, the opening of the Green Zone in the center of the capital Baghdad worried the politicians of Iraq and terrified their children, indicating that the storming of the possibility of coming.
The newspaper began a report about Karim Talal, who participated twice in the removal of concrete walls surrounding the Green Zone in central Baghdad, one in 2016 when he was among thousands of angry demonstrators loyal to the leader of the Sadrist movement Moqtada al-Sadr, who broke into the fortified area, which includes institutions Government and foreign embassies, while the second is considered legitimate this time, where Talal was part of a team of workers belonging to the secretariat of Baghdad, who lifted the concrete barriers last Monday in preparation for the reopening of the central part of the region in part. "

The newspaper quoted Talal as saying," This change "It is not enough that the Green Zone should be like other areas and neighborhoods of Baghdad. It should open the streets for everyone and be able to live in a house next door to Wazir's house ."

"If they do not meet the demands of the people, we will enter the Green Zone again, and we will enter the homes of the ministers and there will be a problem," Talal said.
The newspaper said that "since the US invasion of Iraq in 2003, which toppled the regime of Saddam Hussein and the Green Zone is blocked from most of the population, where the region has become a symbol of American influence and the growing differentiation between the leaders of Iraq and elected from the masses," indicating that "the decision taken by Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi, to open parts of the fortified area came in conjunction with the first anniversary of the government's insistence on a supporter, in reference to that Iraq enjoys a period of relative stability.
There were intermittent celebrations by some on the night of the reopening of the area, but for many Iraqis their return from the city was too late, and five friends and two friends lived two miles from the Green Zone, but three of them did not set foot in the Green Zone Start".
"Politicians are relaxed at home, they sleep on cushions of money, they have everything and the other neighborhoods of Baghdad lack everything," said one of Talal's friends, Abbas Fathi.
MP Haneen al-Qaddu, who moved to the Green Zone in 2011 with his wife and three children, told the newspaper that "as well as being a luxury, his move to him was necessary to protect his family after he received threats."

"It's like being in a prison," he said, "but they need special access and exit visas, while special approvals must be obtained for going out at night, moving furniture, buying electronic devices or anything that can be used to manufacture or install a detonator."

His daughter, Aya, goes outside the Green Zone to attend university, but did not tell any of her friends in the summer about her whereabouts .

"While I did not tell them for security reasons, nor did they look at me differently," Aya told the Guardian, "While the family welcomed the partial opening of the Green Zone, Aya fears that terrorists may exploit this opportunity and carry out"

"There may be more explosions and car bombs there, " she said.

"The Baghdadis have not yet felt the impact of the partial opening of the Green Zone. During the morning hours and at the end of working hours in the afternoon, all the streets and bridges of Baghdad are full of cars and traffic is very hot.
