The Interior Ministry's inspector-general's office announced on Monday that it had decided to return more than 27 billion dinars to the state treasury in December, preventing more than one billion dinars from being wasted in the same month.
"This is the result of the audit and oversight efforts carried out by the committees and bodies of the Audit and Financial Control Directorate on the movement of funds, expenses and projects in the departments and joints of the ministry in Baghdad and the provinces," the statement said.
"The monthly report issued by the Office of the Inspector-General on the audit activity showed a return of (3,694,118,959) dinars, and recommended to return (23,947,724,023) dinars, and prevented from wasting the amount of (969,921,200) dinars.
The statement added that "the Directorate showed its opinion during the month in 90 chambers of inquiry and 121 reports of the departments of inspection of Baghdad and the provinces." End / 25 ؤ
