The Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs and Finance Minister Fouad Hussein chaired the second meeting of the Economic Affairs Committee.
The meeting was attended by ministers (Planning, Trade, Industry and Agriculture), the Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq, the Chairman of the National Investment Commission, the economic advisors to the Prime Minister, the representative of the Minister of Oil, Ali Al-Sindi, the Minister of Planning in Kurdistan Region, the advanced cadre in the Ministry of Finance in the Region, Consultants and general managers.
The Economic Affairs Committee has taken its decision to standardize customs duties at all border ports, including the ports of the Kurdistan Region, as this decision is of great economic importance through the payment of customs duties and a unified tax at all ports. It regulates the flow of goods and commodities and activates trade and standardization of import licenses and documents. In this regard.
The Commission also decided to cancel the current customs inspection and inspection points in Fayda, Shirawa, north of Kirkuk, Lailan, east of Kirkuk, encouraging and developing internal trade and the flow of materials and commodities inside Iraq.
The committee also decided to regulate gold and precious metals trade in Iraq. And the Ministry of Transport to work at all border crossings under the law of the Ministry of Transport in force for the purpose of facilitating the work of its relevant structures.
The committee also decided to oblige all ports to implement the decisions of protecting the national product and the commitment to the agricultural calendar in order to encourage the local product.
These decisions are aimed at promoting economic growth, encouraging and stimulating trade, supporting the private sector, simplifying and standardizing procedures in all state facilities, and providing the state budget with the revenue generated by these decisions.
It is worth mentioning that the above decisions were taken after a series of meetings and meetings between specialists in the federal government and the Kurdistan Regional Government.
