BAGHDAD / The Minister of Planning Nuri al-Dulaimi discussed on Tuesday mechanisms of examining goods exchanged with Turkey during a meeting with the ambassador of Ankara, Fateh Yildiz.
A statement by the Ministry of Planning, received by "Iraq News", that "Dulaimi received the Turkish ambassador to Iraq Fatih Yildiz, and the accompanying delegation, and discussed the mechanisms of mutual examination of goods, and ways to strengthen them to serve the interests of both countries.
"The importance of signing a memorandum of understanding strengthens the volume of economic and investment cooperation between the two countries," Dulaimi said.
He also announced the establishment of 6 modern laboratories at the border crossing points for the purpose of ensuring the quality and safety of imported goods, conforming to local and international standards, as well as signing memorandums of understanding with a number of countries for the mutual recognition of the inspection.
In turn, the Turkish delegation expressed its readiness to provide all kinds of support to Iraq, pointing out the full cooperation with the Iraqi authorities concerned in the inspection and examination of products and goods entering Iraq, and the issuance of international certificates of accreditation.
