US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has said his country is committed to supporting Iraqi forces in fighting a militant organization.
"A supporter is still a threat to us and must be confronted and defeated," Pompeo said in a speech at a conference of foreign ministers of the International Coalition in Washington.
"We must defeat defeat, and we must not provide safe havens to its elements, and this organization remains a threat to Iraq and Syria," he said.
He pointed out that his country is committed to supporting Iraqi forces to fight against.
