BAGHDAD / The parliamentary speaker, Khadija Ali, announced on Sunday a parliamentary attempt to vote on the law on domestic violence, which did not come to light during the previous session.

In a statement, Ali said, "We have followed with deep sorrow the assault of the child Rahaf from a family attack that led to her death to extinguish a small candle that has not yet seen life." He pointed out that "the phenomenon of child molestation has been exacerbated as a phenomenon alien to the society has not been given before, Cases of abuse which there is no generalization, this law and the like will be a kind of legal accounting. "

"The death of the girl Rahef must be a lesson for us to protect such people from such harassment. Therefore, while we call on the government to punish the perpetrators, we call on parliament as a legislative authority to enact laws that protect our children and contribute to guarantee their rights and provide a decent life for them. You have not seen life yet. "

Ali pointed out that "the phenomenon of child molestation has been exacerbated as a phenomenon alien to society has not been entrusted before and that there are a lot of cases of bullying that there is no generalization, this law and the same will be a kind of legal accounting."
