After 15 years of oscillation between capitalism and socialism, economists said, Najaf was the first economic council to bring together more than 1,200 businessmen to develop business strategies and plans for the future.

The Economic Council has been asked to involve it in government decision-making, in terms of economy and trade, and remain independent at the same time to support the private sector. 

According to economists, the establishment of a commercial pressure force of businessmen may fill a vacuum that existed in the past years, in terms of the absence of specialists, whether in local governments or provincial councils.
