    BAGHDAD, Feb 20 (Reuters) - The size of the foreign debts of the Ministry of Defense amounted to more than $ 2 billion over the previous contracts worth $ 149 billion, Of those contracts.

    He stressed that "the earlier investigations by the SAIs have arrested many of the accused," calling for "tightening control of the funds allocated to the Department of armament in the Ministry of Defense to buy weapons."
    "The debts of the Ministry of Defense are based on its previous contracts for the purchase of F16s, Korean T50s and Czech-made L195s, as well as other contracts," Zamili said, revealing that "the value of these debts exceeds two billion dollars."
    He pointed out that "contracts for the purchase of these weapons paid by the Iraqi government in the form of installments to the countries supplying weapons."
    The federal budget for the year 2019 budgeted the Ministry of Defense about (7) billion dollars distributed between investment does not exceed two billion dollars and operating more than (5) billion dollars to pay the salaries of its employees of about (288) thousand employees.
    The number of employees of the Ministry of Defense according to the Federal Budget Law (288997) distributed among the top 44 and 318 first, 1779, 3253, 3523, , The Sixth (10535), the seventh (26580), the eighth (25189), the ninth (123536) and the tenth (78895).
