Deputy for Basra calls for the activation of the national carrier

"Al-Mohamadawi visited the General Ports Company, the Land Transport Company and the Southern Region Railways Directorate to discuss the development of the transport situation in the country," his press office said in a statement.

"We need to open the horizons of coordination and cooperation between the Ministry of Transport and the efforts to promote these vital and important sectors to boost the national economy and provide the state treasury with additional revenues," he said.

He called on the Iraqi ministries to "support the companies of the Ministry of Transport through contracting and the transfer of goods and petroleum products through the private facilities of the Ministry of Transport."
