Despite the presence of advisers and dead Revolutionary Guards .. Iran: We do not have military forces in Syria !!
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qasimi claimed that his country does not have military forces in Syria, despite the Iranian advisers and militias belonging to the Malalis in Syria.
"We do not have units and camps in Syria, we have a consultant there, and we will continue to stay with the Syrian government, the Syrian people and the army as long as Syria asks us to do so," he said during his weekly press conference .
It is noteworthy that Syria and Iran signed in August of last year , the military cooperation agreement added a legal character on the Iranian military presence in Syria, and proved to the permanent presence on Syrian territory.
The Iranian news agency IRNA quoted Abu Qasim Ali Nejad, the Iranian military attache in Damascus, as saying that the continued existence of "advisers"Is one of the terms of the "defense and technical agreement" between them.
Tehran denies the presence of military forces in Syria, but the frequency of funerals for the Iranian dead after the outbreak of the Syrian revolution in 2011 proved the opposite. Official Iranian media have already reported the death of a number of Iranian Revolutionary Guard commanders and generals.
The Fars news agency earlier reported the death of the Revolutionary Guards' military commander, Abdullah Iskandari, during the "defense of a Shiite shrine," as she put it.
Reports indicate that the deaths of Iran in Syria so far more than 2,000 people dead , mostly Shi'ite militias of the nationalities of Iranian and Afghan, Iraqi and Pakistani and Lebanese.
