Private - Mawazin News The past days witnessed the visit of government officials to the bases where the presence of US soldiers, while sources indicate the presence of government to count the number of bases containing foreign troops in Iraq, the Committee confirmed the defense of parliamentary absence of the country.
National security adviser Faleh al-Fayyad and deputy commander of joint operations, Major General Abdul Amir Rashid al-Yarallah, visited Ain al-Assad base in Anbar early this week.
The base of Ain al-Assad is one of the most important bases in which there are foreign forces and advisers in Iraq.
Informed sources spoke of a government approach to counting the number of US troops in Iraq and their duties and rules.
"There are no US bases in Iraq, and there are foreign advisers to the American-led coalition in Iraqi bases," said Mohammad Reza, a member of the parliamentary security and defense committee.
Reza added that "his committee has already asked the government, a statistic for the number of foreign advisers in Iraq."
According to unofficial US reports, there are about 7,000 US troops and advisers in Iraq
