The President of the House of Representatives Mohamed Halabousi, on Thursday, the need for continued international coalition and the NATO mission to support the government in the war against "terrorism" and support for security forces. 

Al-Halbusi said in a statement received by Alsumaria News that the latter received "Canadian Ambassador to Iraq Paul Gibard, Director of the Department of the Middle East in the Canadian Foreign Affairs Shan Boyd, in the presence of representatives of the liberated areas."




The statement added that "the meeting discussed the activation of bilateral relations between the two countries, the Canadian government's support for Iraq's security and stability file, activating the reconstruction of liberated cities and the return of displaced people to their areas. 

He stressed Halabousi, according to the statement, "the need to continue efforts of the International Coalition and the NATO mission in support of the Iraqi government; to continue its war against terrorism and eliminate it, and provide the necessary intelligence and technical support for Iraqi forces." 

For his part, Mr. Gibard expressed "his country's continuing interest in strengthening the relationship with Iraq, continuing its support in all fields and standing by its side to achieve stability and sustainable development."
