Minister clarifies important details in MoUs with Saudi Arabia and date of implementation
(Baghdad: Al-Furat News) Minister of Commerce, Mohammed al-Ani, memorandums of understanding and agreements signed with Saudi Arabia "Baba" for advanced relations between the two countries.
"The memorandums of understanding and agreements signed by the Iraqi delegation headed by Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi, with Saudi Arabia will open the doors for advanced relations in all fields," the statement quoted Al-Ani as saying. 
He added that "the signed notes will have positive and effective repercussions on the economy of Iraq." 
He pointed out that "Iraq seeks to open up to its Arab environment and build good relations with neighboring countries," noting that "the agreements we signed in Saudi Arabia will be implemented on the ground soon in all parts of Iraq," noting that "the visit has achieved successful meetings with officials and businessmen Saudis ". 
He added that "these agreements will revive the private sector in Iraq and its development to take its role in the economic process."
Al-Ani said that the delegation met on the sidelines of the visit of the Political, Security and Military Committee, which comes out of the Saudi-Iraqi Coordination Council, in light of the strength of relations between the two countries, which will serve as a cornerstone for relations in the region based on the many interests that bring together their peoples and countries. 
"The visit underscores Iraq's keenness to attract Saudi investments because the Kingdom has all the potential and willingness to support in this regard, supported by the common political will, in addition to the willingness, readiness and ability of the private sector in the Kingdom to achieve this in line with the objectives of Vision 2030, Outside".
He added that this visit was also aimed at elevating relations to the desired strategic level and opening new horizons of cooperation in various fields, including political, security, economic, developmental, commercial, investment, tourism and cultural. Within a specific action plan agreed by both sides. " 
"The Minister of Commerce, Mohammed Al-Ani attended the Iraqi-Saudi Business Forum held in Riyadh in the presence of Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi and the participation of major Saudi companies," the statement said. 
The Iraqi delegation in Riyadh signed 13 agreements and memorandums of understanding between Iraq and Saudi Arabia in the presence of Abdul Mahdi and King Salman bin Abdul Aziz, and ministers from the Iraqi and Saudi sides.
Agreements on memoranda of understanding in the field of political consultations, agreement on mutual recognition of product conformity certificates, investment promotion and protection agreement, memorandum of understanding on agricultural cooperation, Memorandum of Understanding on industry and mineral wealth, memorandum of understanding on oil and gas, memorandum of understanding on energy And a memorandum of understanding in the field of scientific and educational cooperation between the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of Iraq, and a memorandum of understanding on a program of cultural cooperation. 
It also included a memorandum of understanding between the Saudi Ministry of Education and the Iraqi Ministry of Education, a memorandum of understanding on technical cooperation program, a memorandum of understanding to study the feasibility of electric linkage, a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the maritime field, and regulation of passenger and road transport operations.
