The President of the Republic of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, is facing what he described as the signs of revolution against him within the Justice and Development Party, because of the worsening economic crisis, and the loss of the municipal elections in most major cities, which took place last month.
In a report, the agency cited unprecedented criticism by former president Abdullah Gul and former prime minister Ahmet Davutoglu of Erdogan, which she said were "signs of an internal revolt against Erdogan from his former allies."
The agency quoted Oglu as saying on Sunday: "We can not deal with an economic crisis at a time when we deny its existence. There is a governance crisis that is the basis of the economic crisis we are currently experiencing."
The report pointed out that these criticisms reflect the chaos in Turkey, while Erdogan seeks to tighten his grip on the rule, and stifle any opposition to him.
