Turkey on Thursday confirmed the readiness of its companies to invest and establish vital projects in Iraq.
"The President of the Republic, Barham Salih, received at the Peace Palace in Baghdad, the Turkish ambassador to Iraq Fatih Yildiz and the delegation of the Turkish Contractors Union headed by Medhat Ynigon," a presidential statement received by Mawazine News.
Saleh pointed to "the depth of the relationship between Iraq and Turkey," stressing "the need to strengthen the bonds of economic and trade cooperation to serve the mutual interests between the two countries."
He stressed that "Iraq is a country attractive for investment and is in need of companies to build firm projects and provide employment opportunities for young people," calling on Turkish companies to "contribute to the reconstruction and construction of cities because of its expertise in this area."
