Foreign Minister and his Egyptian counterpart: escalation does not serve the region

Foreign Minister Mohamed Ali al-Hakim and his Egyptian counterpart Sameh Shukri stressed the need to exert efforts to maintain security, stability and resolve crises through dialogue and non-escalation because it does not serve the region.
Al-Hakim received a telephone call from his counterpart Shukri.
"The two sides discussed the latest developments in the region by phone and the need to exert efforts to maintain security, stability and work towards resolving problems and crises through dialogue and non-escalation because it does not serve the region," the ministry said in a statement.
"They also stressed the importance of strengthening consultation and discussing a number of regional issues of mutual concern," the statement added
