South Korean media reported that its northern neighbor had punished its special envoy in the US file.
According to the South Korean newspaper Chosun Ilbo, North Korea has executed its special representative at the State Council and the US official because of the failure of the North American-North Korean summit in Hanoi.
According to the newspaper, Kim Hyuk Chul, the special envoy in addition to four diplomats, was executed.
The South Korean newspaper quoted the source as saying that the series of executions was carried out in March at the Merim airport near Pyongyang.
