The head of the parliamentary bloc of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Joan Ihsan, Tuesday, that the meeting of the Council of Representatives scheduled to be held next Thursday, will witness the vote on the draft law on provincial elections not organized in the province and al-Qadiya.
"The Presidency of the House of Representatives held a meeting with the heads of the parliamentary blocs, in the presence of the parliamentary legal committee represented by its president and members, to discuss the first amendment to the law of the elections of provincial councils not organized in the province and the jurisdiction No. 12 of 2018," Ihsan said in a statement received by Mawazine News. "He said.
"The meeting decided to include the law in the agenda of the House of Representatives next," noting that "most of the heads of parliamentary blocs agree on the paragraphs of the draft law, in order to smooth it."
She pointed out that "there are paragraphs within the draft law we have objection to some of them, and the purpose of the meeting was to bring the views between the parliamentary blocs in preparation for a vote on the bill during the next parliament session."
And noted that "there is a divergence of views on the existence of gaps in the draft law," asserting that "the Kurdish blocs have an objection to the proposals submitted by the other parliamentary blocs."
She pointed out that "the two proposals belong to the electoral denominator and how to calculate it based on the percentages of (1.9) or (1.9 plus two seats for the loser of the largest electoral lists)," noting that "Kurdish blocs oppose the proposal and prefer to stay on the origin of the law (St. Lego) "He said.
Ahsan stressed that "it is necessary to legislate laws preceded by studies in depth because it is not easy to amend the laws between the period and the other, as the introduction of laws for amendment indicate not to study the good form and required," likely that "the House of Representatives will vote on the draft law in its next meeting, Despite the existence of objections by the parliamentary blocs on one paragraph and another, and the majority will be master of the scene.
