Independent Iraqi politician Izzat al-Shabandar confirmed on Friday that the US Treasury's sanctions on Iraqi figures were carefully and politely chosen.
"US Treasury sanctions on Iraqi political, financial or public figures with open care are political sanctions," said Shabandar, in a tithe of his through his account in Tooter, read by Mawazine News.
"The sanctions are an extension of the threats of Bert McCork and his aides from the traitorous and corrupt traitors before and after the recent Iraqi elections."
On Thursday, the United States imposed economic sanctions on faction leaders in the popular rally, including Christian MP Ryan Chaldean.
"The US Treasury has imposed sanctions on four figures, including leaders in the popular crowd," The National said in a news release.
"The sanctions included the leader of the mobilization of Babylonian Ryan Chaldean, the leader of the Shabak crowd and the promise of al-Qadu, and two former governors, namely Nawfal Hammadi, the governor of Nineveh province, and Ahmad al-Jubouri, governor of Salahaddin."
