Former Deputy Prime Minister Bahaa al-Araji stressed that religion can not work with politics because it is "dirty" and its temptations are great, noting that either "we are facing a religious state or we are in front of a secular state.
"I met with Muqtada al-Sadr several times after I left the Sadrist movement," Al-Araji said in an interview with the I-News channel, followed by the National News Center (NNC).
"The Sadrist movement left politically, not religiously," Araji said.
