BAGHDAD - 
A member of the Parliamentary Integrity Committee Abdul Rahim al-Shammari, the receipt of parliament a request from the Supreme Judicial Council to lift the immunity of 5 deputies, to investigate them on issues related to corruption. 
"The judiciary asked the parliament to lift the immunity of 5 members," noting that "the five deputies accused of corruption cases involving embezzlement of funds and manipulation of projects during executive positions before they get seats in parliament." 
He explained that "lifting the immunity of deputies requires either two-thirds of the members of parliament, or there is a right to the President of the parliament to lift the immunity of the MP in the event of Parliament has a legislative holiday."

(Baghdad: Al-Furat News) Revealed member of the Committee on Integrity Parliamentary Abdul Rahim Shammari, on Monday, the High Court of Justice to lift the immunity of 5 deputies; to investigate them on issues related to corruption.

"The judiciary asked the parliament to lift the immunity of 5 members {without revealing their names}," noting that "the five deputies accused of corruption issues involving embezzlement of funds and manipulation of projects during executive positions before they get seats in parliament "He said. 
He explained that "lifting the immunity of deputies requires either two-thirds of the members of parliament, or there is a right to the President of the parliament to lift the immunity of the MP in the event of Parliament has a legislative holiday." 
It was not immediately clear the position of the parliament speaker of the request, but the House of Representatives enters the legislative holiday early next August. 
Article 63 of the Iraqi Constitution states that a member of parliament may not be arrested during the term of the legislative term except with the consent of the members by an absolute majority to lift the immunity.

Parliamentary Integrity Committee revealed the receipt of Parliament request to lift the immunity of five deputies; to investigate them on issues related to corruption without revealing their names.
Committee member Abdul Rahim al-Shammari said in a statement that the five deputies accused of corruption cases involving embezzlement of funds and manipulation of projects during executive positions before they get seats in parliament. Shammari said that lifting the immunity of deputies requires either two-thirds of the members of Parliament, or there is a right to the President of the parliament to lift immunity from the MP in the event of Parliament has a legislative holiday. "

Iraqi parliament receives dozens of requests to lift the immunity of deputies

The Committee on Integrity in the Iraqi Council of Representatives on Tuesday received the Parliament more than (40) requests to lift the immunity of deputies.
"The presidency of the Council of Representatives, received more than (40) requests from the judicial authorities to lift the immunity of deputies, on various issues not related to corruption only."
He pointed out that "these requests are not limited to 40 deputies, perhaps there is more than one request for one deputy," saying that "these requests so far at the Presidency of the House of Representatives, and has not been presented until the moment on the parliamentary committees concerned, so we know from these deputies."
This comes at a time when the President of the Supreme Judicial Council Judge Faik Zaidan, the House of Representatives to lift the immunity of its members accused of corruption cases while taking executive duties, while stressing the cooperation between all organs in the field of integrity issues.
