The Minister of Construction and Housing, Benek Rikani, announced the start of the construction of the largest industrial city in Baghdad, the first of its kind in Iraq, which will be implemented under the custody of Iraqi businesswoman Zainab Janabi.
"The project on an area of 2000 acres in the Nahrawan area of Baghdad to establish the largest industrial city and the first of its kind in Iraq," Rikani told a press conference at the ministry building.
He said the city would "activate clean local industries and recycling, reduce imported materials, while providing jobs for 10,000 Iraqis."
