A Gulf newspaper quoted what it said were US assurances of an Iranian attempt to take full control of Iraq through some of the most eminent figures in Iraq.
According to a newspaper reported today, that the US intelligence services thwarted the mission of the loyal Iranian leader of the Quds Force and the official of the Arab file in Tehran Qassem Soleimani to control the presidency of parliament and the government and the Iraqi presidency as wings of the regime in Iraq.
The report quoted the US embassy in Iraq as confirming that its intelligence had used Iraqi Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi and Sadr's leader Moqtada al-Sadr to confront the biggest Iranian state plans to dominate the Iraqi regime.
According to the newspaper Gulf, Iran has used a senior Iraqi leader plays the role of the opposition to use as a key tool to implement this scheme, but declined to be identified.
