    [size=18]A member of the Parliamentary Committee for Security and Defense Sa'aran Al-Aajibi, on Sunday, that his committee approached the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Adel Abdul Mahdi on the legislation of the law "compulsory recruitment", pointing to the "importance" of legislation and its application.


    Al-Aajibi said in a statement to the semi-official newspaper "Al-Sabah", that "compulsory recruitment is a duty and a national duty in force in most of the small and large countries, strong and weak, each according to the requirements of his situation." 

    He added that the legislation and implementation of the law "an important step to contain young people and alleviate the widespread unemployment among them in general, and it contributes to the development of their capabilities and rehabilitation to serve the community and the nation."

    On Wednesday (August 7, 2019), the Parliamentary Security Committee unveiled efforts to pass the law of “compulsory recruitment” during the next phase.

    Parliamentary Committee on Security and Defense warned on Sunday that the activation of the law of compulsory recruitment would be a "curse" against the current government, while ruling out the government going to activate the law for the time being.
