The head of the parliamentary health and environment committee Qutaiba al-Jubouri demanded the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to hand over the Iranian ambassador in Baghdad strongly protested note because an Iranian officer attacked an Iraqi woman at an Iranian airport.
"Regrettably and painfully, we saw pictures of the Iraqi mother who was assaulted by a light-hearted, petty person at one of the airports of neighboring Iran," he said in a statement.
"We do not look at this Iraqi lady as Najaf, Basra, Salah al-Din or Erbil," she said. "We are an Iraqi mother and we are honored to accept the dust on which she walks. "To make sure that the poor criminal who attacked her has received the punishment he deserves. The case is not that easy. Fear the anger of the Iraqis from Zakho to Basra."
A video showing an Iraqi woman saying she was beaten by an Iranian officer at Mashhad airport sparked widespread outrage, prompting an official comment from Baghdad.
In the video posted by activists on social media, the woman spoke of a beating and falling on the ground.
The video documented clear bruises near the eye of the Pentecostal lady, who confirmed that she did not know why she had been beaten, citing abuse by the Iranian officer.
An aide to the Iranian consul in Najaf visited the woman's house and apologized for the incident.
