The 104th session of the Arab Economic and Social Council at the ministerial level started with the participation of Iraq.
The Minister of Trade headed the delegation of the Republic of Iraq to participate in the meetings, which included 24 items, 3 of which were specific to the Republic of Iraq.
The Ministry of Commerce said in a statement that "the items of Iraq are the eleventh item and includes a preliminary study of the idea of the production of diammonium phosphate fertilizer project submitted by the Ministry of Agriculture, where the proposal was forwarded to the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development, the Arab Organization for Industrial Development and Mining and the Arab Atomic Energy Authority." .
The statement added, "Item XII included welcoming the hosting of the Republic of Iraq for the meeting devoted to the presentation of projects hosting countries to refugees and displaced Syrians."
The meeting will discuss the economic and social file of the Council of the League of Arab States at the level of the next Arab Summit in its 31st session, which will be held in March next, as well as follow-up to the implementation of the decisions of the 103rd session of the Economic and Social Council and the activity of the General Secretariat Resolutions of the 4th Arab Economic, Social and Development Summit held in Beirut last January and the periodic items related to supporting the Palestinian economy, the unified Arab economic report for 2019 and the unified Arab speech of the meeting Joint annual International Monetary Fund and the World Bank for the year 2019 and the report of the Arab food security for the year 2018.
On the sidelines of the session, Minister Al-Ani met with Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary General of the League of Arab States.
The Minister of Trade also met with the Lebanese Minister of Trade and Economy and the Palestinian Minister of Commerce separately.
