Prime Minister [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] will face US pressure to prevent any strategic alliance with China to maintain its hegemony and open arms to China for light and medium weapons , political analyst Jassim al-Moussawi said on Wednesday .
" [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] needs to diversify its armament and not rely on American armament, which is slow in developing the army system, " Moussawi told Al-Maalouma .
He added that "Abdul Mahdi's step to diversify armament by contracting with China is a step in the right direction," adding that "Washington will not allow Abdul Mahdi to move in this direction."
