revealed US Defense Secretary, Mark Asper, the role of US forces President Donald Trump agreed to send them to the Middle East on Saturday, saying it "will be the functions of the field of air and missile defense."
He said the Pentagon that sending new US troops to the Middle East is a first step, to respond to "Iranian aggression," pointing out that "the purpose of US military assistance to Saudi Arabia is to force Iran to return to the negotiating table."
Asbir added that the United States is sending additional weapons to Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates to improve their defense capabilities.
Asper announced on Saturday that US President Donald Trump had agreed to send additional troops to the Middle East against the backdrop of the alleged Iranian attack on Saudi Arabia.
Earlier, the United States accused Iran of attacking Saudi Arabia's oil infrastructure. Iran denies this.
Trump's decision to send additional troops to the Middle East comes as part of his administration's approach to the policy of maximum pressure against Iran, and against the backdrop of the attack on the facilities of the oil company "Aramco" on September 14, which the Houthis claimed responsibility.
