    "Ani arrived in Kuwait on Saturday noon and met with his Kuwaiti counterpart Khalid Al-Roudhan and discussed with him ways to activate bilateral relations and activate the work of the bilateral joint committee emanating from the commercial cooperation agreement signed between the two brotherly countries in 2014," the ministry said in a statement. .
    She added, "The two sides will discuss during the meetings, which will start tomorrow and last two days, all topics related to facilitating trade exchange and facilitating the entry of businessmen in both countries," pointing out that "the committee holds its meeting on (29-30 / 9/2019)."
    Al-Ani stressed that "there is a tendency from the Iraqi government to resolve the differences and problems related to the spirit of brotherhood that links the two countries and the two brotherly peoples and believes in mutual interest.
    "We came to Kuwait with an open heart to discuss all things and deal with them in a spirit that believes in change and developing relations to overcome the past in a way that contributes to the welfare of our people," he said.
    On February 21, 2019, Iraq and Kuwait signed the minutes of the cooperation agreement covering all cultural, scientific, commercial, transport, communications and border points.

"

    Al-Ani continued: `` It was also agreed to form a specialized technical committee from the concerned authorities in both countries, and to meet in a maximum period of 31 March 2019 and therefore to study mechanisms to facilitate its work in the interest of the two brotherly countries to submit their final perceptions within two months of the first meeting of the Committee. ''
    "The minutes of the meeting also included entry visas for businessmen," he said.
    He explained: "We agreed with the Kuwaiti side on the work mechanism for the issuance of visas through the Ministry of Commerce and the National Investment Commission in Iraq to provide a list of Iraqi businessmen to the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry, to take the necessary measures on their accreditation as a white list is updated periodically through the National Investment Authority The two parties also agreed on the mechanism of granting entry visas to Kuwaiti businessmen by submitting directly to the Entry Visa Office at the National Investment Commission for the purpose of granting a visa directly and implementing these mechanisms by the competent authorities in both countries before 31 March. 2019 ".
    The Minister said: "Regarding the re-implementation of Safwan / Abdali, we agreed to speed up the rehabilitation of the land port of Safwan / Abdali, to facilitate the movement of traffic in order to increase the volume of trade exchange between the two countries and provide financial resources and the possibility of supplying the Iraqi port with electricity and invite specialists from both sides to meet and coordinate, To complete the technical aspects before 31 March 2019. "
    Regarding the rail linkage, the minister stressed that "it was agreed with the Kuwaiti side to form a joint working group between the two countries in a maximum period of 31 March 2019, in order to prepare plans and economic feasibility studies, specifications, detailed studies and requirements of rail linkage between the two countries to be completed and required studies. ".
    He continued: "It was agreed to strengthen joint trade cooperation between the two countries and accelerate the holding of the first session of the Iraqi-Kuwaiti Joint Committee as soon as possible, as well as the formation of an economic committee, where we agreed to form an economic committee to promote and develop trade and economic relations headed by the ministers of trade in both countries to serve the interests of The two brothers. "
    He pointed out, "the signing of the agreement on the promotion and protection of investment, and stressed the joint cooperation in the field of investment by urging the relevant authorities in both countries to implement the provisions of the agreement on the promotion and protection of investment signed between the two countries in December 2013."
    Al-Ani said that it was agreed with the Kuwaiti side to work on settling some of the outstanding issues raised during the meetings, namely: "Following up the outputs of the Kuwait International Conference for the Reconstruction of Iraq, and following up the issue of frozen assets in the banks of both countries, and working to increase the volume of trade exchange between the two countries. "
