Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has denied that he ordered the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, but acknowledged his moral responsibility for the crime because its perpetrators were government employees.

"Killing Khashoggi is a heinous crime," he said.

"But I take full responsibility as a leader in Saudi Arabia , especially since it was conducted by Saudi officials working in the Saudi government."

He talked about his country's position on Khashoggi's murder at a time when speculation prevailed that the kingdom is not serious in holding those responsible accountable, before he cut off the controversy by affirming that his country's judiciary is involved in holding "those who committed the heinous crime" after the country's public prosecutor demanded a maximum penalty of " Execution ”against a number of them.

"When there is a crime against a Saudi citizen of Saudi government officials, as a leader I take this responsibility and we are keen that this will not happen again in the future ... Justice will take its course in the murder of Jamal Khashoggi ."
