Iraqi Parliament issues directive for its protection regiment "in case the demonstrations arrive to the building of the Council"

Vice President of the Iraqi Council of Representatives Bashir Khalil al-Haddad on the importance of rapid government reforms and respond to the legitimate demands of the demonstrators in accordance with specific ceilings and in line with the gravity of the stage and believes to overcome the crisis.
He said in a statement, "We directed the Regiment to protect the House of Representatives to deal with civil protesters responsible and protect them in accordance with the principles of human rights, in case the demonstrations reach the building of the Council and not confront them with violence. Seriously deal with the demands of the demonstrators in order to improve the service situation and hold the corrupt accountable and provide job opportunities for the youth.
He pointed out that the peaceful demonstration is a legitimate right guaranteed by the Constitution and laws, and stressed the need to ensure the conduct of demonstrations so as to ensure the peaceful demonstration and protect the lives of demonstrators.
