US Secretary of State Warns International Companies of Iran's Malicious Financial Activities
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Wednesday welcomed the reinstatement of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) to impose additional measures against Iran for failing to comply with international standards to combat money laundering and terrorist financing, warning international companies of Iran's malicious financial activities.
Pompeo said that Iran "has shown a deliberate failure to address the shortcomings in the fight against money laundering and the financing of terrorism, deliberately the lack of transparency in its economy so that it can continue to export terrorism."
