    The Russian station revealed today, citing an Iraqi politician, on Thursday, the existence of US-Iranian talks on the situation in Iraq.
    A report of the Russian station that "the talks took place last week, led to an agreement on the survival of Adel Abdul-Mahdi as prime minister for a fixed period (not announced), and stop the campaigns of arrest and violence against demonstrators."
    He added that "the Iranian and American parties did not agree on many of the files, especially those relating to the Popular Mobilization."
    This comes with the continued demonstrations in Baghdad and the southern and central cities of the country, with new schools and universities in the south to respond to calls for the strike as well as a number of institutions and government departments.
    Hours after the announcement of a telephone conversation between US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Abdul Mahdi, the first of its kind since the outbreak of demonstrations in the country on the first of last October, the Iraqi state television recently broadcast to the Prime Minister, during a meeting with his ministers, which dealt with the overall demonstrations and developments in Country and program and reform projects.
    Abdul Mahdi said during his speech at the government meeting, that "it is not permissible to download a government several months old files of corruption."
    He reiterated that some of the terrorists deliberately clashed with security forces, adding that "the demonstrations are right, but they are licensed by the Ministry of Interior."
    The Prime Minister of Iraq, that the country needs constitutional amendments and reform of the electoral system.
    The Iraqi Council of Ministers decided on Tuesday to postpone the provincial council elections, while approved the draft laws of the Electoral Commission and the Law on the election of the House of Representatives.
