[rtl]Today, Sunday, legal expert Ali Al-Tamimi said that "the President of the Republic will take over the functions of running the government in place of Abdul-Mahdi if the legal period has ended and no candidate has been chosen to head the next government.".[/rtl]
[rtl]Al-Tamimi said, in a press statement to a local agency, which was read to him by Al-Ahd News, that "the period of the caretaker government will be 30 days, during which the president of the republic is assigned a personality to form the new government ."[/rtl]
[rtl]He added that "if he is unable to choose a new government and the 30-day period ends, the caretaker government will be terminated and the president of the republic according to the constitution will be charged with managing the country's affairs until a person is chosen by him to form the next government ."[/rtl]
[rtl]He pointed out that "the constitution kept the period vague and did not specify it after the President of the Republic was assigned to manage the country's affairs, which means the President of the Republic remains until the candidate of the government is decided."[/rtl]
